Our Mission

Since 1952, members of GFWC Roanoke Junior Women’s Club (formerly Brambleton Junior Woman’s Club) have worked to address the most pressing needs of our community through volunteer service.  This includes promoting education, preserving natural resources, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and participating in the arts.  Work is carried on through projects and programs as deemed beneficial to our local, regional and world communities.   

Locally, our projects often focus on the needs of at-risk women and children.  We have donated thousands of books to area children to promote literacy and the enjoyment of reading and each year we are honored to prepare and serve Thanksgiving dinner to children and families in the Community Outreach Program at Trinity United Methodist Church in downtown Roanoke.  In addition, we frequently partner with other local organizations such as the Children’s Advocacy Center, Easter Seals, and Therapeutic Recreation Services of Roanoke County and the City of Roanoke to serve our community

Our Structure

Unlike most of today’s single issue organizations, our structure allows us to address emerging needs of our community and respond quickly, whether it is an annual project or an emergency response. 

Our Members

Our membership includes incredibly diverse women united by a dedication to community improvement through volunteer service and friendship.  Any woman over the age of eighteen is welcome.

Our Meetings
